“Guidebook for Caregivers of Persons with Mental Illness”

Taking care of a Loved One with mental illness is a very challenging task. And if a Caregiver is new to it, he or she can be very lost. But family and friends' support is vital in the recovery of a patient with mental illness or mental health issues. It is therefore crucial that Caregivers, Family and Friends learn about mental illness or mental health issues, and strategies or ways to take care of their loved ones.

The Caregivers’ Association of the Mentally Ill (CAMI) has launched its “Guidebook for Caregivers of Persons with Mental Illness” at Simei Care Centre on 14 Dec 2013.

The purpose of the “Guidebook for Caregivers of Persons with Mental Illness” is to educate family members on how take care of their loved ones suffering from mental illness and also how to take care of themselves as they care for their loved ones. This Guidebook contains many very helpful practical guidelines. It is highly recommended to caregivers of persons with depression, bipolar disorder, schzophrenia, anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD) or other mental health issues.
